Marami ang galit sa tradisyon. Sa luma. Sa matanda. Isa na ako roon.
Pero pagdating sa panitikan - sa mga antigo, klasiko, matatanda at ‘lumang’ mga literatura, customs, traditions - natutuwa ako. Lalo na pag panitikang Filipino. Napakayaman ng ating nakaraan. Di lang natin alam, di natin binabalikan, di natin sinasaliksik, kaya naliligaw tayo, di natin makilala kung sino tayo. Mas nasisilaw tayo sa dayuhan, mas interesado tayo sa kanila, mas hinahangaan natin sila, mas gusto natin silang pag-aralan, mas marunong tayo hinggil sa kanila - kaysa sa sariling atin. (Hindi naman sa expert ako pagdating sa kasaysayan ng ating panitikan. Ang totoo nga, bobo ako pagdating dito. Naman, student lang po ako, at eduk student. Hindi ako major sa lit o history. Tapos, 18 years old lang ako. Wala ako gaanong alam. Pero, sa tuwing nakakabasa ako ng mga lumang pantikan natin, kahit nosebleed, natutuwa ako… Hindi tulad ng iba - pinandidirihan, kinababaduyan, kinaiinisan ang matatandang panitikan natin. Ay sows!)

Ang karagatan ay isang dulang pantahanan daw. (Ang mga dula na laganap daw sa mga sentro ng pamayanan noong panahon ng mga Kastila ay may 3 klasipikasyon: dulang pantahanan, panlansangan, at pantanghalan.)
Ang karagatan daw ay ang tawag sa isang laro ng mga dalaga at binata pag may panggabing pagtitipon, gaya ng kasalan, kaarawan, at paglalamay sa patay. So, social activity siya, katuwaan, kasiyahan, ng mga kadalagahan at kabinataan pag gabi when there’s an occasion. Wow, may ganun pala sila noon? Tandang Berong: Ikaw, Pepito, ano naman ang masasabi mo?
Pepito: (Nakatawa nang buong tiwala.) Matagal na po akong nagdaraan sa kalyeng iyan magmula po nang may sinasadya na ako sa lugar na ito. At hindi po ako maaaring magkamali. Isang ilaw lamang po ang nakikita kong lagi at iyan ang ilaw sa bahay ni Neneng…
